One undrafted free agent who should impress the Patriots staff.

Chris Roling from Bleacher reported listed JJ Taylor as the one undrafted free agent who should impress the staff. Taylor isn't the biggest back standing only 5'5" and weighing 188 pounds.

Now before anyone says he's too small, Darren Sproles was only, 5'6" 190 pounds. So it's not about size, it's about ability and coaching. Belichick, Fears, and McDaniels will be up for the task.

Roling also noted that the team is down one back heading into camp as Brandon Bolden, the Patriots utility back opted out last month. To that let's face it, Burkhead is no guarantee and Michel could start on the pup.

In 40 games, Taylor rushed 587 times for 3263 yards and 18 touchdowns with a 5.6 yard average. He also caught 62 balls for 487 yards and 2 touchdowns. He also adds value on special teams as a return man. He averaged 24.1 yards a return on 41 kick returns and 8.7 yards on punt returns.

James White isn't getting any younger and the club needs to start thinking about his departure. A small scatback is what the team needs.

If you want to know more about Taylor, I covered the Wildcat earlier this offseason.

Rolings may have had the best take on Taylor, "A chesspiece like this should excel when deployed within a Cam Newton-led offense—never mind his ability on special teams. "
