CFL cancels season

Whether it's high school, college, NFL, XFL, AFL, or yes, ven the CFL. North America loves football. So because we love football, we have to report the sad news. Yesterday, the CFL decided not to have a shortened season this fall.

While even football fans in America had their fingers crossed that the CFL would play, just to give us more of the most meaningful sport in the world, Commissioner Randy Ambrosie of the CFL would break our spirits.

In a Statement, Ambrosie said "Our league governors decided today it is in the best long-term interests of the CFL to concentrate on the future. We are absolutely committed to 2021, to the future of our league and the pursuit of our vision of a bigger, stronger, more global CFL.”

While this decision seems to be a joint decision from both the owners and players union, this is bad for a league that is scared about in Canada about as Much as Major league baseball is cared about here in the states.

This decision hurts player development. Many players who cannot cut it or that were let go by both the AAF and the XFL went to Canada for a chance to do what North Americans love to do, and that's to play football.

One last thing, If the CFL ever wants to expand into New York, I hope they'll consider Rochester, the city has an abandoned soccer stadium and would be a perfect fit for the CFL.
