Montana opens up about conversations with Brady

Tom Brady wasn't the same after the incident in 2017 that saw Jimmy G get traded to the San Francisco 49ers. In 2019 Brady left a slew of breadcrumbs that he wasn't returning starting in the summer. So what was his problem?

The former GOAT of the NFL and four time super champion believes he has an answer. Montana kept his name relevant recently as he spoke to the media.

Joe Cool said, “He (Brady) told me ‘They’d ask me my advice, I would tell them, and they didn’t take it.’ I think he would like a little bit of input and I think ( Tampa Bay) will probably let him have that, especially with the success he’s had.”

According to Montana this would happen often. Brady made it clear over the last two seasons that he wanted a big name Veteran target and that he did not want to transition to a run first team.

The Patriots went out and got Josh Gordon, AB, Demaryius Thomas, and Sanu for Brady but they still transitioned into a run first team. In 2019 Brady audibled a lot and it is believed by many that he would change out of running plays. 

Montana is probably on to something. Montana was also vocal about telling Tom to stay. Being Brady's Ideal, of course Brady had to follow in Joe's footsteps. Joe was done shortly after, will Tom's career be over just as fast?

Brady won't have to worry about the Patriots any more, as it's doubt he'll return after the 2021 season. For now the Patriots have Cam Newton and Jarrett Stidham. People are more concerned with this is a one and done for Newton.
