Fears sees no reason why Michel couldn't suit up week one.

Sony Michel the Patriots 2018 first round draft pick and lead rusher had a clean up operation on his foot to make him more comfortable. The surgery was a success and Michel was expected to be ready for week one training camp.

Throughout August there have been conflicting reports that Michel ranging from Michel missing week one to Michel missing the first eight games. That's a far cry from missing just the month of August. Currently, Michel is working on the mental side as he's on the pup list.

When Ivan fears spoke with the press after Friday's practice, other than comparing JJ Taylor to Dion Lewis, Fears spoke about Michel. Fears was asked if Michel would be ruled out for week one. 

Fears responded, ""I think he'll be ready when he has a shot to get out there. Hopefully we have some time before the first game for him to be out there. If not, we'll take him when we get him." 

Damien Harris, JJ Taylor, and Rex Burkhead have been getting plenty of work in with the two feature backs sitting on the sidelines. Harris is still expected to give both Miller and Michel a run for their spots on the roster. 

I assume running backs Jakob Johnson and James White are getting work in but have not seen their names much this camp so far. Patriots Nation knows pretty much what to expect from them. 

As Far as Michel possibly being ready by week one, I am sure he's doing everything physically possible to make sure he's a go for Miami. Sony is the team's 21st all time leading rusher in just two seasons of the team's 60 year history.
