Is Ryan coming home?

Logan Ryan Played with the Patriots for four years from 2013 to 2016. Ryan emailed Belichick recently to find out if the team has interest in him. Ryan would like to return home to replace Patrick Chung. However, Ryan wants to play period and so he also messaged every other team.

Ian Rapaport tweeted out, "Free agent Logan Ryan views himself as a safety, rather than the cornerback he’s generally listed as. To that end, his agent emailed all 32 GMs these top safety stats and asked them to compare his production. An interesting discussion to be sure as one of the top FAs looms."

Ryan doesn't miss a lot of games and he's coming off one of his best years. Signing Ryan would give Bill some flexibility with his roster building. Ryan is 29 so that would mean a younger guy is likely to get cut.

The Patriots have to make sure their safeties are set as they lost both Chung, Harmon and Ebner. However, the Patriots have JoeJaun Williams and Kyle Dugger. What gives this Idea the leg to stand on is all four of the Boogeymen linebackers are not going to be in the Patriots' uniforms this season.

With the number of defensive back on the team and amount of mobile quarterbacks they'll face, running a base quarter defense instead of a base nickle makes more sense. If Belichick believes he can utilize Ryan and the Price is right, he may be welcomed home.
