Michel to start on the Pup instead of the Patriots Bench???

Sony Michel was expected back in time to practice for week one. Now there's talk about the former first rounder missing eight games. This is a huge difference but the team should be okay without him, regardless.

Why would the Patriots start him on the pup? He is gonna miss the offseason workouts but the team has enough support to start him on the bench for the first two or even three weeks.

Sitting Michel says one of two things. One, that Michel was more hurt than reported. That he needs more time to recover. This is bad news, but still shouldn't hurt the club. For Michel, this would be bad going into his third season.

The second thing this says is, the Patriots have James White and Lamar Miller up on contract year. Lamar is in his prime but at the age backs tend to start their decent. The Patriots could sit Michel to give these guys extra time. To advertise them. Any of the Patriots running backs could be traded. That includes Michel. 

Whatever is going on with Michel, the Patriots are going to be just fine without him. He should be on the field, being a former first rounder but Belichick has a plan. After six superbowls and nine appearances, In Bill I trust.
