2020 NFL Schedule Now Expected To Be Released On Time

NFL PR spokesman Brian McCarthy released a statement little after 3 o'clock this afternoon. McCarthy stated not only did the league still plan on the season starting on time but that the superbowl would still be heldduring the first week of February.

(The schedule) "Should be out by May 9th as we've said. Kickoff slated for Sept. 10 and the 101th season concludes w/ Super Bowl LV in Tampa on Feb. 7, 2021." McCarthy said in his statement.

The league had delayed releasing the schedule due concerns of the coronavirus by ticket vendors and some NFL executives, who worried that the season should be postponed.

"Some inside the league office, along with ‘ticket industry insiders,’ are arguing against it, explaining that committing to game times (and selling tickets to those games) without more clarity about whether the 2020 season can proceed with fans present would amount to ‘inviting trouble'." According to Ben Fischer

The commissioner has been adamant about the season kicking off per usual and the league will make changes to the schedule if needed due to the coronavirus virus. As for now the 2020 season has a green light for September.
