Can The Patriots Rebuild Him, Yes They Can.

Marqise Lee was a high draft pick who has been plagued with injury pretty much since entering the league in 2014; playing in 59 of a possible 96 games. At 28, Lee should be in the prime of his career.

Lee describes the Patriots kinda like a rehab facility. New England revives careers. Most recently Danny Shelton and Jamie Collins, and Marqise Lee hopes to be the next player rehabilitated by the Patriots.

Lee recently spoke with Mark Daniels of the Providence Journal:

“For me, my biggest thing was I just knew the last couple of years I didn’t have the opportunity to do the things I needed to do as a player. I felt like me choosing New England to go there this season in a sense to try and get back to myself … I feel like this place is the perfect place to get back and try to get back to yourself … [The Patriots are] Very strict, basically all about football and handling your business. I feel like I was a little bit off on that point these last two injuries I had. I just want to get back on track and get everything on point. I felt like New England was the right place for me.”

Lee played 30 games between 2016 and 2017, playing the entire 2016 season. Over the course of those two years, Lee caught 109 Balls for 1553 yards and 6 touchdowns from a subpar quarterback in Blake Bortles. He also had 7 runs for 52 yards. 18 Kick returns for 545 yards and a touchdown plus he caught 7 punts.

The thing with Lee is when Healthy, he puts the numbers on the stat sheet. If he wants to get back to being a highlight reel, the Patriots are the best chance he has, especially now that Brady is in Tampa and the remaining quarterbacks can't afford the luxury of ignoring open pass catchers.
