Is Asiasi ready to fill the hole left by Gronkowski in the Patriots offense?

Out of all the tight ends in camp, the only one making an impact on the offensive side of the ball is third round pick Devin Asiasi. In fact Asiasi and Berry are the only two this week making any news as Berry is working as an edge rushing defensive end.

Asiasi has been working on both passing and two minute drills. Catching passes from the quarterbacks. The other tight ends are MIA so far this week. While Keene is expected to give Johnson a break at the full back role, his absence on passing drills is noticed.

For now Asiasi is showing production in both the blocking and receiving game. He is looking like he could be the missing piece to the Patriots offense since Gronk left. The Patriots offense is built around three things tight ends, slot receivers, and receiving backs. If Asiasi can be that tight end, the Patriots offense will take a step forward regardless of who's under center.
