Patriots Quarterback Competition Is Set To Resume Dispite Those who have knighted Cam Newton the Next Six Time Superbowl Champion.

While the news of Jarrett Stidham's injury had some of the fan base cheering, declaring the quarterback competition over like that annoying family member you avoid at reunions; The Patriots did not declare a winner on Friday and aren't expected to for at least another week or two.

Jarrett Stidham is suffering some discomfort but will be back at it when training camp resumes. There are conflicting reports over whether it's a leg or hip injury but odds are it's just a groin strain. Something that will require stretching and rest. This is a common injury for Pitchers, as it effects both the thigh and hip.

Dr.. Flynn of the Boston Sports Journal wrote that if not a groin strain, than it is a hip flexor. She mentioned both injuries are from "overuse" , and that they're "not quick" recoveries.

However, after doing research the minimum recovery time is 1 to 2 weeks depending on the injury. Maximum could be 4 weeks to 3 months.

The 24 year old, Stidham is in the middle of a quarterback competition and it is doubtful that he is going to be willing to miss out on what maybe his only chance to start. Stidham is going to have to learn to focus through the Pain. The injuries will only limit him if he cannot handle the pain or if team officials decide to prevent him from practicing.

The Patriots will have Saturday off, so the young quarterback can discuss with team officials other experts pain management skills for when he returns to camp.

Stidham is expected to continue with practice and to resume the competition. This would suggest  a shorter timeframe for recovery. Which although injured, is bad news for Cam Newton fans that called the competition before the Patriots have.
