Stidham continues to practice but isn't throwing yet.

Thursday Stidham went to the hospital and when I heard it wasn't that serious and that he would be back as camp, I said it was from lack of stretching and it turns out i was right. More than likely it's a Strained groin but could be a hip flexer.

Either way, Stidham is still practicing but not throwing. The Patriots have 14 days of camp left after Sunday. Being in the middle of a quarterback competition, they need him throwing. Stidham reportedly had the issue since the 18th, that's the day he started throwing all the interceptions. He cannot plant his foot due to his injury, which throws off his throwing Mechanics.

The quarterback competition is on until it's not. I would suggest drugging the crap out of him, so he could plant without feeling the pain but this isn't the 1970s or 80s. Teams are more concerned with player health. Expect the Patriots to try to have Stidham throw sometime this week. Stidham's injury could last a minimum of one to two weeks.

Unless Belichick plans on platooning his quarterbacks, If Stidham cannot throw by the end of the week or is still having difficulty throwing, the competition will get called. Being that this was an avoidable injury, they might call it early to punish Stidham.

Reports are the Patriots were happy with Stidham's performance on the 17th but his performance due to his injury have disappointed the Patriots. The team believes his decline has been from the injury and he will bounce back to that form but they gotta do what's best for the team.

The good thing for Stidham fans is Cam hasn't been doing anything to wow anyone. He's being a game manager, which is good but not the hype his fans said he'd bring. Granted it's just practice, but if the Patriots are expecting Stidham to return to Monday the 17th's form, than Stidham is still the better passer if Cam stays the same without the main targets.
