NFL players are getting paid but at what cost.

The NFL is in a dangerous place where quarterbacks are making a huge percentage of their team's salary cap. Some are making up to 40% of the league Salary cap. Josh Allen is set to make $43 Million, Aaron Rodgers is set to ha e a $33 Million cap hit, and next year Mahomes has a cap hit of $35 million. The NFL salary cap is only around $200 Million.

No NFL player should make more than 15% of the team's salary cap. In fact I don't like paying any one player more than 5% of the Team's salary. The team has to pay 53 players plus the practice squad guys. If a player is making that much or more, they better be able to carry the team with a bunch of garbage players. Not saying they'll have to but they better be able to.

On average players should make .65% - 1% of the team's salary, and practice squad players should make .15% - .25% of a teams salary. That leaves money to pay a few players more than the rest, just because some players have a me before team attitude and don't care about winning a ring.

I know I'd be a horrible GM but making sure the team doesn't go broke or end up in the basement due tl paying one or two players would be a top concern of contract negotiations. I know not every player is Tom Brady when it comes to getting paid. Then again not every so called "elite" player is capable of going to go to ten superbowls. Hell, half aren't good enough to lead a team to one. Before anyone says it's a team sport, that's exactly why one player shouldn't be allowed to eat up majority of the team salary.

The NFL is floating close to the elimination of the salary cap era, which will put smaller markets out of contention, just like it has in the MLB. The NFL needs to put a cap on how much an individual player can make. Every team should have at least 1 franchise player that makes a little bit higher salary than the rest but no player should make two fifths to half of a teams salary cap. The cap should be one fifth a teams salary because it's doubtful the NFLPA would agree on one tenth. I don't know, it's just a thought.
