Patriots shopping Harry

In 2019, the New England Patriots drafted N'keal Harry in the first round. Rumor at the time was he was drafted then because the Cardinals were going to take him with the very next pick if they didn't. Flash forward two seasons and the Patriots are reportedly shopping Harry.

Although drafted as a receiver and playing primarily the X role, Harry is a big slot or move tight end who cannot get separation playing the wrong role for the Patriots.

Harry has his share of problems. He doesn't use his size to his advantage and he struggles to get separation due to bad foot work. However, all his lack of production is not on him.

In 2019 in the time Harry was active, bad calls, penalties, and a 42 year old quarterback who's accuracy was slipping a little, didn't want to throw to Harry.

In 2020, a 31 year old quarterback struggling with accuracy and mechanical issues, who didn't see or Ignored Harry, who didn't know Harry's routes killed Harry's sophomore leap. There was one point Harry's trainer spoke out blaming the quarterback but Harry to keep the peace l, retracted the statement.

There are teams that could still use Harry. Harry is under his rookie contract until 2022, with a fifth year option available. Arizona being the team that made the Patriots anxious, are probably the best team for Harry.

The Patriots have a few options with Harry, they can keep him for another season and hope he plans out. They can convert him to a move tight end, they can trade him, or they can cut him. If the team is unable to find a trade partner, they should keep Harry for one more season.

Harry is a former first round pick and even though Meyers had a good season, it would've been better with a better passer. Looking at film and listening to analysts talk, the Patriots catchers were all held back by poor quarterback play. If the Patriots could get Jimmy G or even Fitzpatrick, Harry could have a career year and improve trade value.
