Harry Wants Out, Maybe Tampa Will Take Him.

On Tuesday July 6th, N'Keal Harry requested a trade from the New England Patriots. Harry a former 2019 first round draft pick had slipped down the depth chart to the number five spot.

Many expected the 6'4" slot receiver to be able to use his size to be the next Dez Bryant. Harry never showed the ability to be that outside X receiver. Between Tom Brady like to work with young guys and Cam Newton not being able to find him, Newton's first two years have been a disappointment.

Over his short career, Harry has caught 45 of 81 targets for 414 yards and 4 touchdowns. Harry only has 2 drops over his career. Harry also had 7 carries for 49 yards.

Harry's agent released a statement saying, "For the past several months, I have been working in cooperation with the Patriots behind the scenes to put a plan in place to allow N'Keal to thrive in New England. Through two seasons, he has 86 targets, which obviously hasn't met the expectations the Patriots and N'Keal had when they drafted a dominant downfield threat who was virtually unstoppable at the point of attack in college. Following numerous conversations with the Patriots, I believe it's time for a fresh start and best for both parties if N'Keal moves on before the start of training camp. That is why I have informed the Patriots today I am formally requesting a trade on behalf of my client."

It's unclear who is going to want Harry but it's clear the Patriots are not gonna get what they spent on him. If the Patriots can get a 4th round pick for the Harry, then they will win the trade early. Better to recoup something now than to let Harry have another bad year. It's the same for Harry. Better to let another team use him while he has two and a possible years, than to let the Patriots misuse him for a third straight year.

As unfortunate as it is, this is the best timing for both parties. Hopefully they can part ways amicably. I have no hard feelings for Harry. When his trainer called out Cam Newton, I had no problems believing it came from Harry. It was only a matter of time before we got to this point. Since Brady is recruiting everyone, maybe Tampa will take him. Good Luck Harry.
