Garoppolo versus Stidham might be the Patriots best hope for 2021.

The Patriots passing game looked abysmal in 2020. If you watched DPN Commentary on February 16th, 2021, you know more blame falls on Cam Newton than the pass catchers. Yet, Cam is still a possibility to return. 

Newton is among a plethora of names that could be in the quarterback room in 2021. It's looking more and more like the Patriots redshirted Jarrett Stidham in 2020. With that said, the Patriots are looking at a lot of mid to lower tier quarterbacks via free agency or trade. 

The Patriots may still take a quarterback in the draft but it's unlikely they'll draft a quarterback before late on day two at the earliest, if at all. The Patriots reportedly aren't going to be taking a quarterback early in the draft which bodes well for any veteran or Stidham. 

There is a very good chance that Jarrett Stidham could be in another quarterback competition in 2021, much to the dismay of many fans. The dream scenario for Belichick and the Patriots would be a Jarrett Stidham vs Jimmy Garoppolo competition. 

Garoppolo seems favored by the media as being on the Patriots roster in 2021 and Stidham will most certainly still be around for another season. Both quarterbacks are young and are liked by Belichick. If Belichick can find a young starting quarterback to lead the Patriots, it would put the Patriots in a spot to avoid a rebuild. Providing they nail the rest of the 2021 offseason.
