Where will the Patriots stand?

I predicted the Patriots to go 10-6 this season. My projection didn't change with Newton, I just raised the regular season ceiling from 11 wins to 14 wins, while my floor stays at 7 wins. Many people I know are projecting them to win 11 or 12 games.

Homers, however have an issue with anyone who is projecting less than 10 wins. Even nine wins is unacceptable for majority of homers.

There are those in the media who have projected the Patriots with Cam Newton to finish with only 5 wins. It's possible, doubtful but possible.

Darren Hartwell to the time to list some of the predictions going around the sports world for the Patriots 2020 season.

"Tom E. Curran, NBC Sports Boston: 8-8 record, miss playoffs

Peter King, NBC Sports: Miss playoffs

ESPN.com: 5-11 record, miss playoffs

Cynthia Frelund, NFL.com: 8.3 wins, projected AFC Wild Card team

John Breech, CBS Sports: 10-6 record, win AFC East, lose to Ravens in AFC Wild Card Round

Conor Orr, Sports Illustrated: 10-6 record, win AFC East

Albert Breer, Sports Illustrated: Make playoffs as Wild Card team, lose to Texans in AFC Wild Card Round

Maurice Moton, Bleacher Report: 8-8 record

Vinnie Iyer, Sporting News: 9-7 record, make playoffs as Wild Card team, lose to Bills in AFC Wild Card Round."

Add to that WEEI's staff Andy Hart who has them going 5-11, while Ryan Hannable has them an 11-5 team.

With exception to the people over at ESPN and Andy Hart, most think the Patriots are at least a .500 team but furthermore still a playoff team.

I completely agree but can see things going either way. Here's my most unpopular opinion. With game manager Brian Hoyer at quarterback for all 16 games and playoffs, the Patriots have as much a chance at success as the Ravens did with Trent Dilfer in 2000. Oh, by the way; they won a superbowl dispite Dilfer and Hoyer is a better quarterback.
