One unit fell off by 5 spots, another unit dropped by 10 spots in 2020 from 2019, where does the blame lie.

Yes, the Patriots pass catchers could've been better. The Patriots lost Philip Dorsett but the 2019 supporting cast was ranked 17th with the 17th ranked quarterback.

In 2020 the supporting cast was ranked 22nd, a huge part of that is because their quarterback was ranked 27th. He was only ranked that high because of his rushing and receiving abilities. He was the worst starter and there were backups better than him.

Just to be clear elite is 1-5. Good is 6-10, Above average is 11-15, average is 16-20, below average is 21-25, and bad is 26-32.

There were plenty of times the pass catchers weren't getting open but there were too many times they were open and either they weren't thrown the ball or it was a bad pass.

Looking at what weapons the Patriots lost, the fact they they only fell 5 points, and seeing how much of a difference in the passing game the drop off is between 17 and 27. Any Newton fan being honest with themselves has to put majority of the blame on him for the drop in production by the pass catchers. As long as I hear the pass catchers getting blamed for Newton's drop off, I will continue to defend them.
