Patriots Nation stop counting your eggs before they hatch

A lot of people are basing Jarrett Stidham off of his first year stats and saying he is going to be a bust. That the Patriots need to either sign Kaepernick or Newton, or Tank for Lawrence or Fields.

Stidham went completed 2 of 4 passes for 14 yards and a pick 6. He is also credited with 2 rushed for -2 yards. Not idea but seeing as he barely saw the field, not bad either.

Check out these first year stats of a Patriots franchise quarterback's backup. 1 out of 3 passes completed for 6 yards and 0 touchdowns. 36 rushes for 43 yards and 1 catch for 23 yards.

Both stats came from guys who weren't selected in the the first three rounds. Neither looks impressive. Admit, those of you who don't want Stidham, wouldn't take the other quarterback either.

How about an undrafted Cowboys quarterback who in his first two seasons, only stats were 2 carries for -2 yards? That Cowboys quarterback went on to start 127 games for them and set multiple team records. His Name was Tony Romo.

Romo who beat out the Patriots former franchise quarterback Drew Bledsoe. The Same Drew Bledsoe who lost his job to the sixth round quarterback that I showed the stats for above.

For everyone of you that want to get rid of Jarrett Stidham based on his 2019 stats, you would've gotten rid of Tom Brady for his 2000 stats and Romo for his lack of stats in 2004 and 2005.

The point I am getting at is like many before them, Brady and Romo both showed that they were NFL starting material when given the opportunity. Granted Both guys had a franchise quarterback waiting to take back the job but Hoyer is one of the most intelligent quarterbacks in the NFL. Do not for one second think he doesn't want to start for the Patriots. Stidham has pressure to perform.

Give Stidham a chance to prove himself and stop counting your chickens before they hatch.
