Patriots' Bill Belichick leaves door open for addition of Veteran quarterback.

Tom Brady is now a Buccaneer and there is uncertainty at the quarterback position for the Patriots. If the Patriots had planned this, Belichick would be prepared but Brady choosing to leave has caused plenty of chaos for the organization.

When asked about signing a veteran quarterback on the NFL network, Belichick said “You never know what is going to happen down the road, but we feel like we have four good players there,” the coach replied. “We added Brian and J’Mar to Hoyer and Stidham. We added Hoyer and had Stidham from last year. We like working with those guys, and we’ll see how it goes.”

Stidham is the clear front runner to start, while Hoyer and the two undrafted rookies will be battling for the backup role heading into the upcoming season.

Stidham has a lot of good things going for him. His draft status and his situation in college, as well as last season have been well documented. However, there is one quarterback to keep an eye on, forner Patriot Jacoby Brissett.

Brissett for the moment appears to have lost his starting job to Phillip Rivers. Brissett knows the Patriots system and is 12-20 as a starter. In 2019 he finished with a 7-8 record for the mediocre colts.

Brissett has played four seasons and still has plenty years ahead of him. He is the most likely veteran for the Patriots to acquire and Belichick is a never say never type of coach. By Belichick not giving a direct answer, he doesn't hinder any chance of getting his quarterback if the need arises.

Chris Guest Clutch Point also made a good point. "While you can never truly know what the Patriots franchise is going to do, it wouldn’t be surprising for the team to test a deep draft pick at the QB position – look how well it worked out for them with the 199 overall pick in 2000: Tom Brady."

What this means for the Patriots is that the only thing certain is that nothing is certain.

Frank Gore signing one year deal with the New York Jets

Frank Gore continues his rounds as he signs with the New Jersey Jets. Gore is going to call MetLife stadium in New Jersey home in 2020, as he is being signed to take Carries away from Bell. Gore, who's 36, had a productive year rushing for 599 yards in 2019.

Matthew Schmidt of clutchpoint gave his two cents, "While Gore’s production has clearly declined over the years, he has still been very durable, as he has missed just two games since 2011."

Gore is one the all time rushing leaders. Gore's stats may have slipped but so did his carries. When older backs have to split carries it always hurts their stats. Gore has been down 100 carries each of the last two seasons.

Gore needs 1,379 yards to pass Sweet Feet Walter Peyton. It's doubtful Gore will get the Carries this up coming season but with the way Gore has been running, he could accomplish that by the End of the 2021 season.

If Gore stays consistent and is allowed to play as long as he is being productive, Gore should pass Emmitt Smith as the all time rusher at the end if the 2024 season. Gore is racing father time and playing for Adam Gase is sure to slow him down.

Fans are getting to watch a special player in Gore, regardless of the team, appreciate him while you can. Backs like him are few and in between.

Stephon Gilmore reveals how Patriots made him into an elite cornerback.

Stephon Gilmore started his career in Buffalo. While Gilmore was decent with one pro bowl appearance, fans in the Bills mafia thought he was a first round bust. Many laughed when the Patriots signed him to a large contract, especially those in the Rochester chapter.

Since joining the Patriots, Gilmore as become one of the best cornerbacks in the NFL. Gilmore says a culture of stability is why he blossomed, something Buffalo has lacked since 1993.

“Me in Buffalo, the first five years, I had four different defensive coordinators, three different head coaches, so I was kind of trying to learn each and every year,” Gilmore said, according to Chris Mason of Mass Live. “Once I got to New England, I got some consistency and the same guys around, same coaches. I feel like that is why my game took off more.”

Gilmore had a disappointing first season in Foxboro but he wasn't being utilized properly. The play was so bad, people wondered why Belichick didn't just pay Malcolm Butler. Fans wanted Gilmore gone and thought Belichick was sabotaging Brady.

Once the Patriots figured out their mistakes with Gilmore, His play improved drastically according to Matthew Schmidt of Clutch Point.

"Gilmore settled in and had a breakout campaign, appearing in every contest and registering 45 tackles, a pair of picks, two forced fumbles, a fumble recovery, and 20 passes defended. As a result, Gilmore made the Pro Bowl and earned a First-Team All-Pro selection." wrote Schmidt.

The 29 year old earned another pro bowl appearance in 2019, thanks to his ability to shutdown receivers. The ball hawk also had 6 interceptions and a pair of touchdowns. His play was just lights out.

Thankfully, Belichick has ignored the Tank for Trevor noise and kept Gilmore, who is poised for another elite season in 2020. The thing that Gilmore sited as why his play improved in New England, is the thing that will keep New England competitive now that Brady is gone; consistency.

Tedy Bruschi warns Buccaneers before Tom Brady's first Season in Tampa

Tom Brady is the "G.O.A.T." but don't expect him to do all the work, Tedy Bruschi told everyone associated with the Buccaneers organization.

“They need to get over Brady-watching. Because they get to the sideline and all of a sudden it’s like, ‘It’s OK, Tom will b ail us out.’ That’s what I call Brady-watching,” Bruschi said.

Bruschi offered the following advice to his long time quarterback's new family.

“I’ll say this right now,” Bruschi said. “If those players see him as that four-letter word, they better get over it. The four-letter word is a word I will not use to describe him. It’s that farm animal, it starts with G. I don’t do that. Because that’s almost like putting him on a pedestal. It’s like, dude, you’re still the same guy I intercepted in practice and took 20 bucks from. Come on, now. “That’s my one advice to his teammates right now. He is on a level plane as you, because he’s gonna make mistakes, but he’s also gonna make you better. And it can’t be done without you. Don’t look to him to do it. Our teams never did.”

Bruschi knows the pre-GOAT, Tom Brady said Marty Fenn of Clutch Point.

"The former New England Patriots linebacker was part of a dominant Pats defense that helped drive the team’s success long before Brady began to cement his status as one of the greatest quarterbacks in NFL history." wrote Marty Fenn.

Anyone who watched the last two seasons of Brady's career, knows that he can no longer carry a team on his back or elevate the players around him.  Add to that Brady's unwillingness to throw to people who have dropped a pass or misread a defense when deciding a route.

The Buccaneers are favored to win the superbowl but it will take a lot of work. Tom Brady will expect all work and no play, and anyone looking to have fun around Brady better be prepared to wait until February. Tom Brady will not except anything less. If anyone in the Buccaneers organization has an issue with that, this could be a long season for them.

Tom Brady must also be prepared for a mutiny and may regret going to a new environment, where his work level and level of expectation is not shared by the coaching staff or owner. Disfunction starts at the top. There's a reason why the Buccaneers haven't been to the Superbowl since they had Gruden, and it's not because of Jameis Winston.

NFL admits it botched reviewing pass interference calls last year.

Troy Vincent NFL Executive VP admits the league messed up with the pass interference rule in 2019.

"We failed. I’m first in line. I shared that [with league officials]. I failed, as the leader of that department. I failed. We cannot allow that to happen again. What did we learn from that? We’ve got to do our due diligence. You can’t rush and just shove something in there without knowing all the consequences. And we found that out last year, live and in action, publicly."

Coaches would challenge plays that were obvious and officials would up hold the call, almost like they were rebelling. There was a cry from the league to hold officials accountable.

Vincent's response suggests he's against the idea. "They [officials] should be faceless objects, managing and facilitating game flow."

So the league came up with another Idea. Have a guy watch the game and look for missed calls.

“The concept of the eighth man in the booth has some merit, But we just don’t have the pipeline [of officials] today. Can we get there? Yes. But today, it could be a challenge.”

The problem is the officials don't want to challenge officials. So it's doubtful if this passes Thursday, that it will work.

There needs to be someone that works independently of the officials, that can be bipartisan if the league wants to make this work. If the rule gets passed, it's not likely to take effect until 2021.

Ex-Player claims Tom Brady Left Patriots because of Bill Belichick.

Tom Brady decided to leave the Patriots to relocate to a retirement community in south Florida. Since then everybody and their mother has an opinion on why Brady left. Even though the story has been beaten to death, it doesn't stop people from coming forward with an opinion in hopes of gaining 15 minutes fame.

Tom Brady was clearly frustrated over the past several seasons with the team. There are reports that Josh Gordon, AB, and Mohamed Sanu signings were all decision made at the request of Brady.

The TMZ has made Samuel sound like a bitter ex player but Samuel said he benefited from his time in Foxboro.

"It worked out for me, man. It made me a better man, but it's not something I enjoyed, He probably just got tired of it," Samuel says of TB12. "He probably got tired of some inner-circle things that he wanted. Maybe, he wanted receivers and tight ends to stay there with him and maybe Bill tried to trade them. Who knows what happened?"

It is unknown how much contact Samuel has had with Brady since his departure from the Patriots. Samuel is a former pro bowler and two time superbowl champion with the team. Samuel hasn't been a Patriot in almost a decade.

Skylar Carlin of Clutch Point wrote "Regardless of the reason, Brady and Belichick spent 20 seasons together that were filled with success. While Brady didn’t leave New England in a hurry, he and Belichick could have simply agreed it was best to part ways at this point in their careers." Honestly, we'll never know.

As for TMZ, TMZ baited fans and vilified Samuel by using the term "Bolted". Anything to produce click bait. As a writer, views are everything but TMZ joins the list of media sources that have little to no integrity and should be taken with a grain of salt.

Thirty Eight percent of Patriots Fans think Stidham will have a Great Season.

A poll was done on twitter, 443 people took part. The poll asked Where Stidham would finish among NFL quarterbacks.

Thirty eight percent selected top fifteen. While another thirty eight percent selected sixteen to tweenty.

Eighteen percent selected twenty one to twenty five. While seven percent selected twenty six or worse.

There are tank for Trevor fans who are attacking downing Stidham and want him to fail. Some of these fans are insulting the rest of Patriots Nation.

I realized why. They're upset that they never got to experience what it was like for the Patriots to draft a bust at quarterback. They never got to see when the Patriots were the laughing stock of the league. They want to experience what it was like for Patriots fans their first thirty three years.

When these fans say "Tank for Trevor", They're really saying get us a Tim Couch, David Carr, Jamarcus Russell, Sam Bradford, or Jameis Winston.

The Tank for Trevor crowd is tired of winning. They want to bury the Patriots. They want Belichick to retire, and they want to be worse than the browns have been since returning to the league.

Failure is never an option, the Patriots have a motto and it's "Do Your Job". Belichick's Job is to win a superbowl every year or get as close as possible to doing so. That's the same for every head coach. To lose on purpose is against the Patriots Way.

If The Patriots finish with five wins but tried to win, no problem. The players are better for it. If the Patriots try to lose, it hurts player development. There's no guarantee that a good quarterback in college will have the same success in the NFL. Otherwise, every team would have their franchise quarterback.

While it's foolish to crown Stidham the NFL MVP, it's just as foolish to count out Belichick's ability to coach.

Sean McDermott reveals the one thing Buffalo is missing

The Buffalo Bills won a wildcard spot in 2019, surprising nobody who paid attention during last offseason. This was Buffalo's second Playoff appearance this century.

The Bills have not been dominate since the early 90s. With Tom Brady gone, the Bills and Dolphins have a slim chance of dethroning the Patriots from atop the AFC east.

McDermott has continued to improve the Bills, bringing in a quality backup quarterback and a Top tier receiver.

Like all sports teams, the Bills are unable to perform normal activities due to the covid Virus. Which is hindering players development.

Matthew Schmidt of Clutch Point wrote "Head coach Sean McDermott understands the obstacles that his team is facing and recently said as much, specifically noting the aerial attack as an area of trouble:"

“We usually spend about 70 percent of our spring trying to shape our passing game,” said McDermott, via The Rochester Democrat & Chronicle. “There’s no pads on so not a lot of sense spending a whole lot of time on the run game in spring ball. In training camp it flips a little bit, starts to even out, maybe 60-40, 50-50, because you have pads on and you can work the 9-on-7 drills. That’s the biggest thing we’re missing, time on task in developing the passing game.”

McDermott is giving the AFC East back rivalry  football. Something rarely seen over the last twenty years.

While the Jets are still the practice squad in the AFC East, the Bills, Dolphins, and Patriots should bring in two of the three wildcard spots. I look forward to watching Buffalo and their number two defense, along with the other two teams, destroy every team outside the east and show everyone how weak the AFC East really Is.

McDermott is already making 29 other teams wanna shout.  We'll see if he can make his division rivals shout after the 2020 season kicks off.

N'Keal Harry improving his footwork

N'Keal Harry is working with a personal trainer that specializes in footwork and has worked with some of the NFL's best receivers, Rischad Whitfield.

Harry had a shortened rookie season due to an ankle injury that limited production, and Harry is looking to avoid a sophomore slump in 2020.

In 7 games Harry started 5 as a rookie. He caught 12 catches for 105 yards and 2* touchdowns. 7 of those catches being for a first down. Harry also had 49 yards on 5 rushes.

*Harry was robbed by a blatant bad call by an NFL official who took back Harry's touchdown versus Kansas City, ruling Harry stepped out of bounds as he ran down the field for a score. Touchdown plays were reviewed by the league in 2019, so there was no reason for any whistles to be blown.

If Harry is serious about improving his game, he'll try to work with NFL greats Jerry Rice and Darrell Green, two former players known for their training regiments.

Bills' Sean McDermott reveals what will get Norman Back to form.

Norman signed with the Bills on March 18 that allowed him to reunite with his defensive coordinator in Carolina.

Norman a former pro bowler has been in decline over the past two seasons. Leading to his termination.

Nico Beato of Clutch Point reported "It came to a head in Week 12 of the 2019 season when interim head coach Bill Callahan benched Norman in favor of Fabian Moreau."

McDermott is hoping to return Norman to the level he had before they separated. McDermott blamed the system, personal, and culture in Washington for Norman's decline. The Redskins were a dumpster fire ranking 27th on defense and 32nd on offense in 2019. A far cry from the team McDermott fielded in Buffalo.

"That’s another example of people coming to Buffalo and regaining, in this case, a better version of one’s self.” McDermott added "He experienced great success in Carolina with our culture and system, and hopefully coming to a similar culture and system, he’ll be able to regain his form. I know he’s working hard,” said McDermott"

Buffalo ranked 2nd if defense in 2019, and is rivaling the defense the Bills' had between 1987-1993. Buffalo looks to reclaim the division they surrendered to the Patriots in 2001, after losing an 8 year rivalry.
