Meyers Heads To Vegas, And The Patriots Have Another Hole.

The Patriots reportedly are losing Jakobi Meyers to free agency. Tuesday morning It was reported that Meyers signed with the Raiders. This comes after fans were suggesting dumping Meyers all the way up to the 53 man cut-down.

Meyers age 26, has been the Patriots most reliable receiver for two seasons. And has proved his worth since being signed as a udfa in 2019.

Meyers played in 60 games for the Patriots. He caught 235 of his 344 targets for 2,758 yards with 8 touchdowns. Meyers also threw for 2 touchdowns over that span. Not bad for a guy nobody wanted.

Meyers will reunite with Josh McDaniels in Vegas. And being that the team is already stacked with talent, Meyers should be at least as productive as Welker was in Denver. Well providing they can get good quarterback play from Jimmy Garoppolo.

This is a case of be careful what you ask for. Patriots Nation better hope the Patriots know what they're doing. I get in Bill we trust but he couldn't be trusted to bench Cam in 2020 and he couldn't be trusted to revert back to the Brady offense last year.

They are talking to Philip Dorsett. There were talks of converting him to slot last time he was here before his time was cut short. Everyone wants the Patriots to get faster and Dorsett would do that and he provides veteran leadership at age 30. Edelman played until 34, so no reason to think Dorsett couldn't be here a few seasons. If he can play slot that is.

The Patriots went from needing a two tackles, a receiver and a developmental interior lineman prospect to needing two tackles, a tight end, two receivers and a developmental starting interior lineman prospect. To quote Matthew Slater, Patriots Nation, "how do we feel"
