Cam could be back

The Patriots quarterback competition is a big question mark. There are currently so many possible outcomes that non can really be ruled out at the moment because one is just as possible as the next.

Take Cam Newton for example. He had one of the worst seasons for a passer in modern nfl history. Yet there is still a chance that he could be under center in 2021. There are those that argue his pass catchers couldn't get separation but at the same time, those who argue the pass catchers couldn't throw the ball to themselves. The Patriots passing game was a double edged sword, there's no other way to describe it.

Even Mike Reiss of ESPN asked, " I think the concern is the functional passing game -- how much of that was Cam versus how much was around him?..."

The first few weeks, the pass catchers got all the blame but then coaches tape showed Newton wasn't on his game.

When football experts have to question how much blame goes where, the arguement of "who did he have to throw to" goes out the window because he could've been just as bad with Hopkins.

Even so Cam could be the man come week one. If he fails, he's done. The only thng we have to now ask is, can he do more than run.

Update:

Check out speak for yourself, they explain the condition and some very optimistic home takes on Cam. In the resigning Cam would be a mistake video on YouTube.

And by the way for anyone who has forgotten, completion percentage is one of the stats that do not tell the full story.

Remember the nfl quarterback competition in hawaii? Some quarterbacks can hit the target. Cam is the type of quarterback who would hit the black paint or worse the white paint outside the black. Accurate enough for pass catchers to catches but inaccurate
