The Offense has looked dismal for a week due to the passing game, As Belichick continues to sacrifice Accuracy for Athleticism.

The Patriots practiced inside the stadium and simulated a game scrimmage. There were a couple of notable absences, mainly on defense but nothing that would hurt the team. In fact Cowart is looking like Danny Shelton's replacement.

The team would work in a few things. Ine maybe faking an injury for a free timeout. Something not allowed but happens. Hoyer was given praise for acting. The Patriots also worked on quick substitutions.

During the Drills, the Patriots gave Newton 6 reps while Hoyer and Stidham each ran one. NFL writers all pretty much said the same thing. It was another bad day for the offense. With Evan Lazar calling it "Shaky" at best.

This has been the constant theme since friday the 21st, when Newton started taking the lead amount of reps. The running game is still receiving praise but the passing game, although it has had a few bright spots has looked dismal.

On Thursday, Evan Lazar said accuracy and passing drills isn't Newton's game. That Newton is the quarterback to scramble around while waiting for a deep throw or running the football. The Patriots offense, even the playbook is modified for Newton, isn't built like that.

There have been reports all week that Newton has been putting too much power on all his throws, overthrowing pass catchers and yet still throwing too hard for defenders to hang on to the football. Hoyer has been what we know him to be, a conservative game manager.

Stidham has looked good all week on 7 on 7s being near perfect until Thursday, his first full day of reps where he was throwing wide in the rain and none of the quarterbacks were accurate. Stidham is healthy enough again and is the more accurate quarterback but Newton is the more athletic quarterback. Question is, how long will Belichick trade athleticism for accuracy?

Since It seems clear who the starter is and with how the offense is looking, some fans are praying the Patriots do indeed run a platoon at quarterback early on; so that Belichick can continue to decide the direction of the team. Is Newton's accuracy better than Stidham's running ability because fans are okay with a mobile quarterback but we want running ability and accuracy, not or.
