Patriots roundup 8-12-2020

Here are some stories going around the league at the moment about the Patriots that have either been played out or don't have enough for an article of their own.

N'Keal Harry's development is a must. He is expected to surpass 2019 expectations of competing with Edelman for the number one spot and being one of the leading receivers. Media is putting pressure on the kid.

Sony Michel must develop in the passing game while continuing to dominate in the run game.

Stidham hasn't lost any confidence with the addition of Newton and is expected to make a progression jump in year two.

Loss of the Boogeyman Defense may actually improve defensive development.

With the addition of Lamar Miller, Patriots are now having legit running back competition.

Patriots have too many return men, that can only mean one thing. Intense competition and work for the kick off special.

NFL removes restrictions on free agency and is most likely reason why Leggett wasn't signed.

Recent Patriots free agent signings mean Patriots are uncertain about depth at interior offensive line.

Special Teams and depth linebacker out six games due to injury.

Hoyer moving to New England still a big deal. Expectations of him joining coaching staff after career at all time high.

Matt Light is team Belichick. Light Also admits to believing and continuing to spread false information about masks after Scientists, Doctors, Nurses and other medical professionals have debunked them.

Jerod Mayo disappointed but finally understands why players opted out.

Brian Hoyer says Patriots are adjusting just fine without Tom Brady. Like everyone, life moves on, so no surprise.

Media finally accepts Edelman is not a product of Brady and will do well with any quarterback.

Isaiah Wynn is fully healthy, leaving only concerns to who replaces Cannon and who is the depth interior linemen.

With NFL planning on cutting NFL Cap by 35% or 70 Million, and with players admitting they're not willing to take a pay cut if they're playing.  Fans don't understand why the Patriots are going to want to roll over any money into 2021, even with 27 players going free agent, 11 of them being major players.

DPN's Ray Rauth agrees with Nick Wright on something, that is cam Newton being perfect guy to replace Brady. Next thing we know Ray will be having Rob Parker and Max Kellerman on his show, anything's possible now that hell froze over.

Lastly, Some division three schools including The University of Rochester (NY) will be meeting for training camp. Meaning the NFL scouting departments may still have scouting to do this season.  It's DIII but still possible talent. It's unknown how many colleges in DI or DII are holding camp still.
